PILOTS AND PROGRAMMES OF THE OFFICIAL TEAMS BIREL AND RK
BIREL MOTORSPORT WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE WSK SERIES AND WILL ALSO DIRECTLY MANAGE THE OFFICIAL RK TEAM
Both teams will be powered BMB, they will have top drivers to try to reach the maximum in all classes and a specific program dedicated to youth classes at national level.
The programmes 2010 of Birel Motorsport will be linked to WSK Series, both for its excellence, the World Series, and with the participation to Euro Series. The same programme will be developed by the official RK team, also a part of the Birel racing sector.
This choice is a clear will to sustain a competitive format, the WSK indeed, able to promote the best carting in the world.
And this approach seems to have a broad consensus by all major manufacturers, a factor that will be crucial to achieve ambitious goals. Together with Birel, in fact, also CRG and Tony Kart, in addition to their associated names, have already planned their season on the WSK series.
From the racing department organisational point of view, however, the Birel Motorsport confirms its management structure with Mariano De Faveri and Roberto Voltan leading the team, the technical and sport responsible respectively. As for the engines, instead, both Birel and RK pilots will use the Bmb for all the classes.
As for the pilots, the confirmation of Libor Toman for the KF1 was already known, while it is quite probable that Sauro Cesetti will still be at his side.
The only doubt for the pilot from Marche is a possible engage in KZ2, indeed, since Mich will concentrate on the French championship, Birel is still evaluating some negotiations regarding the gear class. The team presented in KF2 will be very ambitious, with the strong Spanish pilot Barrabeig sided by Lennox Lamb and Fousek.
Finally, in KF3 it was officialised the Danish Sorenson. With the RK brand, instead, the Austrian Jager will side the already confirmed Basz in KF2 while Kievitsbosch Arjan will be a new entry in KZ2.
The Birel Motorsport will also have a “Junior” team that will 100% concentrated on young categories by developing a programme linked to the Open and WSK Master Championships with a good group of pilots of the classes KF3 and 60 Mini.
This structure too will use the Mbm engines and will have as KF3 pilots the Italian Lavelli and the Brasilian Gasparini.
The 2010 novelty will be the integration in this programme of an RK team that will deploy three pilots in KF3: the Polish Czaykowski and Dobija, and the Italian Paschina.
Alessandro Villa was confirmed as technical responsible of the Birel junion team.
He will be supported by Francesco Laudato for the RK team so, after retiring from the racing, he will remain within the Birel Group with a technical responsibility.
