KART GRAND PRIX

NEW TROPHY ENGINES TESTED BY OVER 50 PILOTS

Great success for Jesolo test drives: high performance and reliability were greatly appreciated in the engines for the new series.

Record presence of pilots interested in new born Kart Grand Prix Series for the promotional event organized by Birel Group last weekend in Jesolo. More than 50 of those invited by the organizers turned up to try some of the fully equipped karts fitted with 125 Tag engine, the long-awaited protagonist of the series promoted by Birel Group. And expectations were absolutely fulfilled, as the engines proved both their reliability and high performance on the track. Talking about the first of these two qualities, it must be pointed out that Birel directly organized long test sessions, carried out by in-house test pilot Giacomo Patrono, to guarantee a reliable and easy to drive product.
As a result, no technical troubles occurred throughout the whole duration of tests, and also the Triton 26 carburettor that we selected, and the control panel with governor set between 15500 and 16500, were judged functional and reliable.   Yet it was performance which surprised many.
As a matter of fact, the engine turned out to be very generous at low revs and almost equivalent to a KF2 in terms of absolute performance. All the pilots that gave it a try defined it as most enjoyable, and decisively superior to the old 100cc engine performance wise, as well as much easier to drive and carburize. In other words, an absolute hit which should convince a great deal of participants to enter the championship.  The number of engines ordered through the Bmb sales network, over 30 in just a few days, stands as further confirmation of such success.
Head marketing Manager Marco Angeletti agrees on this optimistic point of view. This his comment on Jesolo’s event:  ”The positive results on track, and the enthusiastic comments of the several pilots who tested the engine that will fit the Kart Grand Prix Series vehicles, greatly encourage us.
We believe in this project, aimed at the most discerning and competitive pilots and teams, at such an extent that we will soon announce some exciting initiatives to build up the reputation of this championship as a new landmark in the racing segment. We are aware that the service standards offered by our group on racing weekends will meet even demanding requirements and, in the light of the latest tests, we know that we have realized an extremely good product also technically wise.
All pilots found this engine highly enjoyable and appreciated better performance compared to the old water 100cc one, as well as improved carburetion control.
The electronic system limiting the engine to 16500 revs is perfect for safeguarding its reliability: its action is so gradual that pilots seem not even to notice it.
This test was the occasion to meet a great number  of pilots who, due to the lack of national competitive championships free from frame restrictions  had had to turn to amateur racing, and might be the start of new competitive and stimulating opportunities for many of them.
The whole by simply purchasing the engine, to be used with their own frame and spare parts. I would like to take this opportunity to tell all the pilots who did not have the chance to come to Jesolo, that they can try the Trophy engines until the end of February at our retailers throughout north Italy, and that Birel will be on the track with a wealth of promotional activities before the championship takes off.
